Sometimes a dog comes into your life for a season, but leaves a mark on your heart forever. Tuff is one of those dogs.
Tuff’s story started before he was even born. His mom was found pregnant and in need of help. Not long after, she gave birth to 11 Boxer puppies.
Sadly, things did not go the way anyone hoped.
One by one, the tiny puppies passed away. Out of a litter of eleven, only two survived. Tuff was one of those two.
From the very beginning, he earned his name.
Tuff needed a lot of extra care to give him the best chance at survival. We bottle fed him, watched him closely, and celebrated every little milestone. Every bottle finished and every ounce gained felt like a victory.
Slowly, that tiny, fragile puppy began to grow.
And grow.
And GROW.
Before we knew it, the little bottle baby we had worried so much about was turning into a happy, healthy Boxer with that goofy Boxer personality we all know and love.
We fostered Tuff while he grew, knowing that eventually our job would be to find the person who was meant to be his forever someone.
Fostering is a funny thing. You bring an animal into your home knowing they aren’t supposed to stay forever, but that doesn’t stop you from loving them like they are your own. You feed them, care for them, worry about them, teach them, watch their personalities develop, and become part of their story.
And then comes the bittersweet part. Letting them go.
We are so happy to say that Tuff has officially found his new owner and his forever home!
From one of only two surviving puppies, to a bottle fed baby fighting to grow, to the strong, healthy Boxer he is today, Tuff’s journey has been pretty incredible.
We couldn’t have asked for a better ending to his story.
Actually, it isn’t really an ending at all.
It’s the beginning of Tuff’s next chapter with his forever person. ❤️🐾
Happy tails, sweet boy. We loved being part of your story, and we can’t wait to see all the adventures ahead of you.
